This one hour webinar will describe the difference between normal aging and dementia; provide information on communication techniques & how to connect individuals and family members to resources. Time will be given to discussing recreational programming needs for people with early stage memory loss.
Learning Outcomes: Participants will be able to understand the difference between normal aging and symptoms of dementia. Participants will understand how to effectively communicate with people with memory loss and adapt programming to meet their needs.

The IPRA Six-County Senior Olympics provides an opportunity for older adults to compete with their peers in an atmosphere of friendship and support, and to receive recognition for their efforts and achievements. The event is open to seniors of all ability levels, and hosts more than 30 events including golf, tennis, bowling, swimming, biking, track and field, horseshoes, bocce, volleyball and more.
All participants will receive a 2010 Senior Olympics T-shirt and medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each category. Registration forms and a detailed schedule are available by calling Teresa Grodsky at 847-692-3597. Senior Olympics is sponsored by Presbyterian Homes, Glenview Terrace Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, and Guardian Home Care and Hospice. Date: July 7 thru July 23 Time: Various starting times depending on events Fee: Varies depending on events
